It has been a fruitful week.
Smart Salon on Internet of Why
We had a great salon night in Wayra. The discussion of IoT among the panelists were sparkling, for the diversity of their background and interests.
Material culture design v.s. HCD?
It would be nice to at least, answer the question of WHY, rather than shooting more questions and confusion. It doesn't need to be the only, definite truth. We were just expecting a strong point of view.
It was a brilliant chance to get people sitting together and talk about something that both interest us. A lunch everyday together is nice, but never enough. I miss UID a lot in terms of the ongoing conversations everywhere - lunch, fika, dinner, kitchen, lab, pub night, even weekends. You constantly feel you get inspired and are inspiring others. Everyday you meet a newer self. Nothing could be better than the atmosphere, even we know we might be naive most of the time.
Our internal project is leading us somewhere.
I feel lucky that I finally end up somewhere, working with people whom you don't need to explain the background story first. We think alike and we understand each other. If I cannot get everything at the moment, I choose to work with the right people, and the right project.
What I really appreciate is the definition of "experience", rather than "one single task" or "one pain point". It gives a holistic view of what's happening as a sequence, and put human in the centre of the design stage.
It was hard to summarise design principles and figure out what's going on in an early stage. We tried to form a point of view, which could be something that applies to everything IoT product. The final product is only a consequence, a demonstration of the framework.
I am really trying to become a good communicator, a more confident one.
And I'm working with an excellent presenter with enough patience to understand my thoughts:)
And some fresh reference from RCA.
I'm turning into 24
Yes and I didn't mange to get myself a LEGO mini figurine because it was crowded as hell in Westfield. But my team was super sweet and I'm glad that I'm part of it.
Busy weekend mission: how to stay away from the crowd
The most relaxing weekend since I arrived, started with a nice movie < Gone Girl>. I love the topic of how life pushes people to become a psychopath. You felt thrilled, but then unfortunately, it's our life.
I was smart that I didn't go with team to see Modeselektor. 430am still not on stage? Come on I'm a grown-up.
An epic Sunday of an UID London delegation picnic. I wasn't so sure about wether having a picnic in London was a good idea, but it turned out to be more than great. UID people rocks.
And Camden market done, from my bucket list.
Have to catch up a bit for my portfolio update. And my personal project (really want to have a nice result, but I know it's hard to balance work and play in London :))
I need to read something in order to keep the dynamic of my language.
Plus I'm excited to work on real client project next week.
